Hello Lovelies =]

You must be wondering what is becoming of us as this hasn't been as flowing as it should be. Well, we have been working on the backside and not just our bottoms! =P

Laying out our layouts, attending photography seminars, and just connecting with some fantastic people as of late!

A few weeks ago, my best friend was married in Palo Mesa and it was a perfect night! We weren't the photographers as you can't shoot and be a bridesmaid at the same time! Truly, what an honor to be able to stand by my friend's side and see her beaming with pride and joy. =}

We had a few... hitches, along the way, but in the end, everything was beautiful and you couldn't have asked for a better time! One of our images from their engagement session was framed and set up for signing!
I'm not sure if I've introduced you to my little love, but this is my car. It's a 1972 Honda AN600; two cylinder and a whole lot of cuteness. Top speed of 55mph, unless you're going down a giant hill, then it's about 75mph. =P It averages about 40mpg and, is a bit of a project, but it's adorable!! <3

Anthony and I sort of look like giants emerging from this itty bitty bit vehicle, but it's so fun to drive it around. We're trying to find a sticker that says "Respect Your Elders" for the back window. Te-he-he! For those of you who don't know, this is the first car that was imported to the US by Honda. Well, the N360 was, but it wasn't actually sold in the US. The car companies sort of nudged them to make something bigger that they'd actually be able to sell on the great open roads of America. The second car imported by Honda was one you may recognize, at least, it has a more recognizable name because there were dozens produced after it with the same name/lettering. The CVCC, later to become- The Civic! *Gasp!*

Why do I drive this adorably awesome car? Because that, my friends, is history on wheels...

And it's the cutest car I've ever seen! Acquired in March of 2012 from a private seller in Huntington Beach.

Anthony and I rode up on my moto to pick it up and drive it back here to San Diego, and that was probably the furthest that car had ever gone *sarcasm* *Sarcasm!* The ride was terrible! It was loud and shook uncontrollably, the heater worked, but the lights didn't about half way through the trip. We sat on the side of the road without my motorcycle tool kit and managed to grab a tree light and point it into the engine bay, hoping to spot the trouble and head home.

No such luck! We had to leave her the first night in some random neighborhood. It felt like I had achieved by dreams and then abandoned them. TT.TT

We did manage to get home with what we affectionately call "The N", and have been doing minor maintenance to her since. Oil change, spark plugs, about to replace tubing and do a carb rebuild. Small stuff, you see, and I'm slowly learning mechanics with it. My family has never been much for fixing things, but by grandpa can build you a bedroom set! Anthony is so freakishly tech savvy it's amazing.

And he enjoys it.

So! Here we are! It seems like more of a project car for him than for me, because he's essentially doing the work, sometimes twice over showing me how to do things and me screwing it up, but hey!

That's AMORE-EH! <3 Chelsé Ivonnéhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13010818672777082330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6951737821932946946.post-64977113896656808152012-07-03T21:59:00.000-07:002012-07-03T21:59:42.895-07:00The Oldest Camera (and a deal!)It's not about the camera. Anybody who takes pictures for a living knows, and will usually tell you that right off the bat.

Sure, the newest rig on the block has all the bells and whistles (probably more than one whistle, at this point), but does it make you a better photographer? More than enough has already been stated on this topic, and I'm not one to try to talk people out of a certain religion, just because it doesn't fit where I currently am in life.

What I will try to talk you into, is simplifying.

This camera above is the oldest one that Chelse and I own. It shoots 35mm film. It was built in 1945, and is as relevant today as the newest Canon or Fuji or Nikon.

This post isn't about gear, just like photography as a whole isn't about what camera you use or what lights you have or what your favorite aperture is.

Photography is about communicating an idea, about seeing something and wanting to share it with others, or even just about holding onto whatever it is you are seeing for later. We at Voir L'Amour Photography, want to see your love, we want to help you communicate that idea to others, we want to hold onto those moments for you. The world doesn't need more cameras, it needs more moments recorded by them.

That's why we take pictures. That's why we named our business Voir L'Amour. See the Love.

For all you blog readers, a limited time deal! 15% off our normal couples/engagement session fee if you book with us by July 10th and mention the "Mercury II" camera seen in this blog post.
To those of you who know me, you've probably heard the term "retirement goal" escape my lips followed very closely by the words "Bed and Breakfast". Already, doesn't that sound wonderful?

It's always been a dream of mine, since I was about 13 and stayed in this lovely, endearing Bed and Breakfast in Arcadia, Michigan called 'The Grey Hare'. Since my stay, I've never found a website or link to it and have absolutely no idea how my dad found this remote little B&B in the perfect slice of heaven. Lush greenery surrounded this grey stone building. The library must have been 20 feet high and shelved with books galore, a luscious fireplace and an overstuffed chair or two. There was a lake near by, though I never went near it as it was fairly chilly, but there was a lovely garden and rows and rows of grape vines.

While at some point, I had grape vines intertwined in my dream B&B, it quickly became a field of lavender and has yet to budge. Roses surround the similar grey stone structure and there is a large weeping willow standing near the driveway. Oh yes, it's detailed.

In this dream, I run the B&B with the help of my handy Boyo. I make a breakfast fit for royalty, as that's what my guests will be to me, and tend my gardens the rest of the day. Oh, and the bees. =] I long to be a bee keeper. Funnily enough, the only insect I don't mind a bit. They are enchanting creatures and their lives filled with such purpose! This is, now, after we reckon we can no longer sling the camera gear around and our bones are too weary for distant travel. Could never be idle, even in my imaginary old age. =}

Imagine my genuine surprise when a co-worker informed me of the Key Creek Lavender Farm just a bit north of Escondido. I imagined it surrounded by lush greenery, hidden deep in the valley, but alas, in the bleak desert, surrounded by farmers growing avocados and oranges, herding cows, the land is not so apparently lush, but like a hidden gem, it rests there.

Boyo and I went and enjoyed a warm sun-burned afternoon just as the farm was closing for the day. We walked through rows and rows of various strains of lavender and scented our clothes with their delicacies. We also stopped into the gift store to purchase some lavender honey and lavender jelly. The honey is kept by a local keeper whom, should they need an apprentice *cough!* =} One can only hope.

Friends and family really are what this life boils down to. It might not be obvious, especially if you're a fairly independent entity as some of you are, but really, even those stoic types have to admit that some of the best times they've had on this earth are with others.

Marshall and I have been good friends for time untold. Lots of miles on the road together chasing epic light and trains, lots of photos taken, and lots of learning something or other, especially how to be a better friend and human being.

He's been off exploring life and northern California for some time now, but he made his way back to San Diego and brought his beautiful girlfriend, Melodie, for some wonderfully tourist-y sightseeing. I'd be upset at her for stealing him away from San Diego, but she is a great person and her family even played host to Chelse and myself when we headed up for Marshall's graduation from police academy, and I *will* wait patiently for her dad's guitar amplifier cabinets to be back on the market.
We caught up with them for a great dinner and were fortunate enough to get some time in the always wonderful Balboa Park with them as our subjects before chowing down.
The session started off with an attempt to meet at my favorite coffee shop Caffe Calabria which, alas, closed before we made it. We ended up meeting up the street at Claire de Lune and grabbing something warm and delicious there. We then meandered around Balboa park and managed to snap a few shots in between the cracks and stories before trying to grab some grub at Blind Lady Ale House, which was also closed. =P

I'm excited for a few reasons. The first reason being I'm sewing a dress to do a photoshoot of the N600 and I. Ah, my dream car, the baby Honda <3 I'm also working on getting something for boyo so just know, something is in the mix!

Secondly, creativelive is having a session on fashion photography and incorporating that into your weddings. Can not ever begin to explain my excitement on that note! Not only shooting weddings, but fashion, hopefully with a high fashion flair?! How will she ever pull it off?!

She- being Lindsay Adler, a high fashion commercial photographer. Talk about a dream come true!

Lastly, we've set a goal, a timeline for ourselves. By August, at least 1 of us will be a full-time photographer, if not both. In the mean time, we'll trudge away at our 9-5's and do what we must to break "impossible" and make it reality.

In the mean time:

Live large- and carry on. =]
Great location. Excellent people. Awesome overview of albums.

It was a super learning experience for Chelse and myself, and I'm so revved up and excited for some new possibilities that may be coming our way. The always wonderful Youngren team made the newbies feel welcome and the regulars had plenty to chat about.

Lastly, we're almost at 2,000 individual blog views. Incredible, and thank you all for your support on our journey. This has been an awesome privilege to be able to work with everyone that we have, and we're definitely looking forward to more!
Short post for today, but keep checking back!
They are fireballs when put together!

It must have been something in the air to attract siblings, first my own and then these two. Actually, it was set up with the secret intent to be a mother's day gift, but I won't blow it as it seems her mom is also a friend on facebook and, well, tagging them in the photos sort of ruined the surprise!

But Ah-ha! Never to fear for creative ingenuity if here!

Somewhere. Around...

Here.

Anyhow! This sought to remind them and others, that parents enjoy pictures of us kinderlins. Think of it, when is the last time you took a photo with your family? I bet it wasn't your idea, was it? While you might not think of it now, it's certainly not inherent in the minds of those in my age persuasion, a box of photos five, ten years down the road means a lot more than a box of chocolate ever will.

Who knows what will happen during that time. A baby, a move, a gain, a loss. We tend not to think of how important these things are/will be to us.

But Mom's know. Something about having a kid, perhaps, that ingrains this seed of "Capture their lives to be remembered". Perhaps it has to do with the knowledge they earn through time's passage. They watch it elapse, understand the fragility of it.

Yet a picture remains something physical you can hold in your hand. Remember. It's a more vivid version of a memory. It can make you remember, long after the musty smell of hiding in a closet because you'd tried to trim your own bangs and thought triangles made your face look good. (Why else would you cut them into your hair?)

That's great thing about pictures. Unlike smells, unlike textures, it can't be two things, it can't be everywhere. It's one static moment that instills all of the time surrounding it; the meaning and depth behind it.

Mom's know.

So, for you, Mrs. Amanda-and-Sarah's-Mom. Your lovely daughters; as the are today, as you remember them 20 years ago, as they will be remembered 15 years from now.

Hello Kits and Kittens,

This has been an uplifting and educational week photographically. Not much to show as of this second (i.e. it's on the camera or simply needs to be shot), but I've been learning a lot! Not just learning, but being inspired by.

Watched the CreativeLIVE segment of Don Giannatti and his lighting demonstration. It's only day one, but it's a brillant "here-are-the-basics-to-and-not-to's" of adding light to a subject. This is a pretty large interest of mine as most of the photographs I envision are, well, lit. Perhaps I stumble upon the perfect scene with an unbearably perfect lighting set up, but it's doubtful. Besides, being able to move the light 6 inches makes a world of difference!!

Don has also introduced my eyes to the likes of Arthur Elgort, Patrick Demarchelier, the wonders of W Magazine, and other wonderful fashion wonders.

It also led me to the 6 most killing fashion statements ever made, which has now corrupted the beauty of the victorian era as well as other ages, but did make you ponder- The hell?! By this, I truly mean the most deadly fashion statements ever.

That however, is a more depressing story. Not one of brilliant inspiration as the rest of this post is meaning to be!

I've also recently discovered (all of 30 minutes ago!) Sue Bryce of Australia (well, first New Zealand) and her amazing, inspiring, educational blog. To which, one of the things I've learned is the etiquette of blogging. (Who knew?!)

What are some of your fashion inspirations? Who inspires you? What inspires you? How did you find it/come across it?

Please, expand my limited knowledge of the world with some of your wisdom and allow me to understand. =]
The idea makes you imply certain values and characteristics to that person. Granted, they're typically formed from the experiences of youth and valid points, but time has a way of changing us, of shaping us- it doesn't allow that image to grow into what it is/who they have become.

I will always see my little brother as the little runt who would run his knobby knees out into the apple ivy in front of our house just to be there, leaving behind a trail of socks, shoes, pants, until he was down to boxers. Must have been a wonderful feeling because it happened a lot.

Personally, I've always been a bit over protective of him. Well, my sister, too, but to a point, she could fend for herself. No, my little brother was my heart, while my sister ran my head (usually into the floor as we wrestled.) Regardless, I bloomed into a tall, intimidating person quite early on and was a silent force to be reckoned with. My sister was the spit fire, smack talking thing she still tends to lean towards today. My brother, on the other hand, was a late bloomer. Always the smallest and scrawniest kid in class and two years behind me in school.

Quiet, angry, serene. Today, he still maintains almost a quiet calm in a loud room that allows him to go relatively unnoticed. I loved him dearly as a kid and to this day, still have the urge to kick any kids butt who says anything ill-towards.

I'm always afraid for him, but I really saw him today taking his picture. He'll be just fine.

Funny thing, taking pictures. You can get so lost in them, that you can start to see the bare basics or the most intimate of details. With my brother, I really saw him. He's a pretty good lookin' kid-er-young man. He's always had the - aw shucks, he's just my brother- glean about him that was hard to see through. Yes, he has eyes. Yes, a nose, too though it's Papi's nose, yes lips and a fine chin. Yes, he could be good looking- but he's my little brother. My baby brother. End.

I must say, my family wears some good genes.

While he's still young and his main hobby is cars and car hunting, followed closely by shoes, he's pretty well put together. He might not like big crowds, but that's cool. I don't really either. It was fun hanging out with him today. Teasing about girlfriends and spotting mustangs, nodding when he talked car talk like I knew what the heck a gtr cvxs or something was/is.

It's cool though. At the end of the day, I'm still his big sister.

And I'll kick your butt to Timbuktu if you even try to say anything bad about him. =]Chelsé Ivonnéhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13010818672777082330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6951737821932946946.post-83082305211884000512012-04-21T13:47:00.000-07:002012-04-21T14:14:53.383-07:00Balboa Park. It's still there.Balboa Park is one of those destinations in San Diego that seems to get more out-of-town traffic than it does San Diegans. I always feel like I'm in foreign territory when I'm there, due to all of the touristas and folks clearly getting lost. Anyway, I still like the flow of people, the movement through the different areas of the park, and just the general atmosphere of most of the park.

So, we walked around a few days ago, talked a lot, and generally enjoyed the whole thing after a long day at work for both of us. Setting those projects up has definitely helped me focus get back into the swing of things, and the weather has been fantastically gorgeous, which doesn't hurt either...

Here's my better half:

I've done a 52 weeks project in the past and made it through, and I know how quickly it goes, but it is still going to be a challenge.

That being said, here's the beginning of something good, something challenging, and something that will move me forward, as well as a quote of the week. I'll be matching the images up (or not) with the quotes each week and will start it off with one of the most impact-full statements I've heard over my lifetime.

"If you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got" - Yogi Berra

A decision has been made and it lookds like a 52 weeks has begun for both Anthony and myself. Guess what we need? Your face. No, seriously! We're looking to shoot you, and you, and you!

The inspiration came from a 365 project someone else did. The reason I decided to do a 52 weeks was because I intend to put a lot of thought and effort into gaining a single photo, practicing with lighting, and more importantly, storyboarding. Creating a concise idea, down to the design and executing. Bear with me, lovelies, if you're willing to be a part of one of these ideas and not a "normal" shoot, it may get a little strange. How, I'm not too sure yet, but it's a possibility.

Not saying all of them will be this shot of epic proportions, as set by this last week's example, but it will be a shot, none-the-less.

If you see a lot of tee-ball shots in here as well, well. Let's just say I have the world's cutest nephew. =]

There's something about returning to a place you were as a child. The place you spent every summer, spring, and fall. Half saddened to see the change from what your mind has burned into your skull, yet half enchanted as it degrades and falls; it's your secret memory now and no one else can share in the glory of how it once was.

Yet change isn't always for the better and sometimes, it just a need to move- clear the air if you will. As simple as a change of clothes calling for a better view of a walk today in the bright sunshine. Interesting to see how it changes those around you, the notice it begins to attract.

Completely covered without glitter or lights.

This is one of my favorite outfits, in my favorite part of my house.

Traffic is worse than normal, coffee just doesn't taste quite right, even your eggs are over-cooked and tough.

Today is not one of those days for me, but I'm still struggling with the photographs I made earlier this week as I sort through them and begin seeing the story of the day peeking through the files. As my coffee cup empties, my frustration level grows. I'm not upset at myself, but I wish I was in a different place with my photography. Not quite happy.

One of my coworkers at my 9-5 made a comment as I left work early on Wednesday, that I'm probably a better photographer than what I give myself credit for. I may be, but I sure don't feel that side of the equation as often as I feel not quite up to the task. She's never seen any of my work, aside from what I have tacked up in my cubicle, and that's not at all what I normally shoot.

Check out this blog post by Chase Jarvis, one of my favorite inspiring artists. Commercial photographer/videographer based out of Seattle, WA and I like the thought processess he puts out there. He doesn't talk about his gear so much, but he does dig into the mental spaces he is exploring while on set, while wandering the city on "off-time" and while he's awake at 3AM with nothing but his thoughts. He riffs on the Creative Gap in this post.

Unfortunately, I signed a contract for this most recent solo shoot, so I can't even show Chelse the images before they get put into the ad campaign and website. Hence, you won't be seeing them here. But, as somewhat of a substitute, here's something entirely unrelated.

A location scouting trip for a session later this week, maintenance on the car (new tires on the green bomb, plus more wrenching on the little white BMW), maintenance on the motorcycle (oil leak and replacing more hardware so it can be put up for sale), vinyl records to clean, turntable to repair so it doesn't hum, guitar to put up for sale, bicycles to put up for sale, coffee beans to buy, lunches for the week to make....and I could go on.

How do you guys keep everything in your life organized so you can decide what takes priority? I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed today...Anthonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03692873123822986699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6951737821932946946.post-41842012727952089832011-08-07T20:51:00.000-07:002012-06-26T15:37:04.141-07:00Just don't call me...

Walk.

Why hello all you fine young gentlemen and ladies. <3 It has indeed been a while since my knobby fingers typed out errant thoughts to you all, hasn't it? Well, here's another go!

I've been called a lot of things. Some self inflicted, others seemingly random or effortlessly befitting the moment. Names ranging from Eve, CC, Evangeline, Alexandria, Yvonne, Baby, Catch/Catcher, Batter, First base, Keep, Giant, Jolly Green Giant, Midget, McKenzie, Claire, Girlie, Sharkie, Beautiful, Fluffers, Belle, Babydoll.

I answer to them all. It's strange, this concept of a word defining you.

Doing so many different things in my life from being "CC" in theatre, "Eve" in modeling, "Catcher" in softball; being called so many different names, I answer to just about any name aimed in my direction with an inquiring inflection. I began wondering of other's and their names, knicked or given, and the story behind them.

For example. My name is Chelsé. A different spelling, to be sure. It's sort of pronounced Shell-say, but no one ever says it that way anymore. However, the interesting part of the story comes in to play in 3...2...1! My mom named me Chelsé after a character in Legal Eagles. (A movie I've yet to see...)

Funny, isn't it?

It was a stress inducing turn of events for Boyo and I as we scoured our minds for our photo biz name. It was probably more stressful than naming a child (or so I imagine). Out last resort? AC Photography. Cool, isn't it... (Ka-dun.) That's what we thought, too. (chaaAaA.)

We stumbled into our name on a scavenger hunt of fate. Sitting in a coffee shop waiting for a photo session to begin, a shirt caught the corner of my eye. Grey and kind of loose around the girl, it was one of those slim, yet overly large t-shirts with the wide necklines. Almost like it had been cut out. It wasn't the shirt that caught my fancy, it was what was written across in beautiful French. Voir la Joie, or See the Joy. Something in me clicked. It felt right, unlike the other ideas we were striving for.

What we had, what we Saw was a part of joy, but more than that. It was each other, it was photography as a whole (wreaking of fixer and all), it was holding the memory in hand and glancing at it when we needed reassurance in ourselves, it's a major motivational factor in our lives, in our over all happiness. It was Love.

We love our lives, the fact that we're doing this, we're trying to do this! We love that we have the daring to try! Photography, creating and capturing! Every time someone holds one of our images, I truly hope they see the love in them, in the moment, in the capture and artistry, in themselves.

With all of this in mind, we invite you to follow along to "voir l'amour avec nous." See the love with us. Watch as it and we grow.

We miss taking pictures. We've done a bit of light, record-this-time-so-you-won't-forget sort of picture taking, but we haven't had any real sit-down and dig into the photograph and the process of making a (hopefully) meaningful image with someone.

We miss making images with friends, with family.

I'm going to help celebrate my fantastic Mom's birthday this weekend and you can be sure I'll have my camera along. The plan is for a mini-stay-cation in Coronado. You may even see an image of me (fairly rare, if I'm quite honest) after the day is through and the post hits the blog. Maybe this would be a good time to subscribe, or share with your friends...so you can...you know, all see what I look like.

This paragraph is basically to get from where I was up there ^, to where I will be with the image...down there \/.

It's Sunday morning right now, and we're finally back at home after 2 weeks of tons of running around. We went to Visalia for the July 4th weekend with my parents and didn't touch much beyond a radio for the entire time we were there. Yes, they still make radios that are simply that...AM/FM radios. Hard to believe the format has lasted as long as it has...Wikipedia says Christmas eve of 1906!

We also started the new jobs and have settled into a bit of a routine there. It's with a good company and the people we work with are really helpful to each other and motivated to push forward. It's been excellent practice being on the phone and I'm grateful for that opportunity. One of our colleagues is part of a race team that runs the 24 Hours of Lemons with an E30. I'm hoping to get a big lens rented for a day at the race track to work on my sports photography and reaction time and get some nice images of their car. I haven't shot anything moving faster than a walking pace lately, so I'm looking forward to honing back in.

We spent yesterday afternoon hanging out with our good friend Cameron Ballensky. He's super inspirational and funny, I always come away from time spent with him in a great mood and looking forward to seeing his future projects. His past work is really solid, and he's got great things ahead, whatever he ends up choosing to dominate.

I ran through another roll of traditional B&W film this weekend, and 2 rolls while in Visalia, so the pile is continuing to grow. Will have to take a day and develop all 12-13 rolls, which reminds me that we need negative sleeve pages for storage.

What was on your radar the first couple weeks of summer?
I'll conveniently forget to mention the green beans that I messed up on...they were very forgettable.

The open road. Wait, let me correct that: The Open Road. It's been a constant lure for me ever since I got my first motorcycle (still have it, in fact) way back in 2001. Travel by car was interesting to me prior to that time, but I always associated it with road trips with the whole family and most of those were directly to my grandparent's houses in north-eastern Iowa. For the folks that haven't hit that popular tourist destination and driven along the Mississippi, it actually is a fairly interesting drive. Of course it's not exactly like driving up and down the famous Highway 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) through the gap between Los Angeles and San Francisco, but it's still quite beautiful in it's own way.

Anyway, I have spent a lot of time on the road over the winding course of my life, and I have to admit, I'm proud that I like it. I sometimes complain and very occasionally get sick of dealing with traffic in the auto or wind blast when I'm on a motorcycle, but I get over it fairly quickly and the blacktop's draw is back. This song sums it up, or at least hits it pretty close. I've never drank with grifters in Vienna.

The ever lovely Chelsé made this image at exactly 62mph somewhere north and east of San Diego on a recent two-up motorcycle adventure. That's my giant dome blocking the right side of the frame.
Haven't shot any film in recent memory, so it should be fun to break out the celluloid and practice guessing at exposure.

Pictures to come!Anthonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03692873123822986699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6951737821932946946.post-20558998425111089852011-06-20T08:19:00.000-07:002011-06-20T08:19:24.419-07:00Mundane Mondays and Why This Is Not One!We've both been hired on at a new 9-5 office job, which starts today! You might get to thinking, if they are photographers who are trying to build their photography business in one of those most competitive markets in the USA, why are they wasting their time with a 9-5?

A couple reasons, actually. One, to continue building out our photo gear kit. We have very good gear right now, but we have run into a bit of a lack of selection as we have been out there. If camera lenses are to a photographer as a brush is to a painter, we would very much like to have a couple more brushes, and lots of time to practice with them. This is a minor one, but we feel it's important that we have reliable access to whatever creative supplies we might feel we need. Hence, the dedicated darkroom in our small living space and the cabinet full of wacky vintage film cameras that we love to put some film through.

Two, better schedules than working in food service or similar industries, which all invariably ask for people to be there during the best times to photograph: late afternoon/early evening, and weekends. At this new gig, we will be done by 5 (It's actually an 8:30 to 4:30 once the training is complete) Monday through Friday, and able to run sessions much more reliably and consistently in the after hours. We're definitely excited about this, not to mention having days off together so we can go on more motorcycle adventures!

Three, continue networking and learning about business. This is more of a background activity for me (Anthony) but since I'm the one that does most of the behind-the-scenes kind of stuff (numbers, etc) here at Voir L'Amour, I need to continue pushing myself in this regard and learning about how to simplify and streamline our business model to maximize our fun and keep our enthusiasm high about the whole thing. So far that has been quite easy as we have had great clients (like you!), and haven't hit any real snags. But, as we expect to continue getting busier, the stress level may rise a bit and I'd like to stay running smoothly.

Lastly and probably most importantly, we will now be less than 3 miles away from our very favorite Indian deli/restaurant, Punjabi Tandoor! If you're ever in the area, let's get lunch!Anthonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03692873123822986699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6951737821932946946.post-41842912780713643612011-06-19T11:58:00.000-07:002011-06-19T11:58:24.075-07:00Feeling... Old.Ever have those days when you feel like you don't fit into this time era? That you must have been born in the wrong time? Do you crave manners, sophistication, elegance? True wit and creative public slashes? I do sometimes.

Especially when I watch/read something from the 1930's-1940's. I used to be quite the WWII buff in my day, but I've since let that dull and fade as others didn't share the same level of interest. The inspiration for this look came from watching "The King's Speech". If you haven't seen this, I highly recommend it!

Beyond that, I'm making Whoopie Cakes for my dairy-free nephew. =P

Disjointed day today, lovelies. <3 Have fun! Happy Papa's Day!
A lot. A good time involves going out and trying something that will result in delicious, creamy or chocolatey smiles. There can be an intense complexity of flavors caressing my palate or one simply great one! I imagine mixing flavors and different combinations. A good day in involves either reading or cooking. Baking biscotti or making a dish that took 4 hours!

My new endeavor is (obviously) culinary school. The Savory route is what I'm thinking, but looking forward to the baking classes. Most of you must be noting my pant size. Well not now as it may be increasing! =P

The trick to that is. Once finished. Have One! Then get rid of it/them. Enjoy the satisfaction of your creation and pass it out so everyone can taste your genius. =] Alright, so perhaps I'm spreading it on a bit to thickly (Ka-dun... -cha!), but it may be in my future.

Photography and Boyo will not be sacrificed for it by any means, but I can see having a few in class photographs being posted along with finished products. =P

That's what life about, isn't it. Finding what makes you happy and having it in your life. Having them in your life.

New cafe name! Quick, somebody use this good idea! ;P "Delicious Happiness".

And that's a wrap...
